HOSPITAL OF JERUSALEM - XI SEC. in circular legend around the representation of a knight of the Order in the act of treating a sick person, under which appears the inscription OBSEQUIUM PAUPERUM. In the background the first hospital of the Order of St. John in Jerusalem, inspired by the images of the remains brought to light in the excavations in the Old City of Jerusalem. In the exergue, centrally, the nominal value of the coin and, along the edge, the indication SOVRANO MILITARE ORDINE DI MALTA.
