Residence of the Marchesi del Vasto until 1806, from 21 to 23 October the sixteenth-century Palazzo d’Avalos hosted the 2022 edition of Vastophil, a traditional philatelic conference organized in Vasto, in the province of Chieti, by the local Circolo Filatelico “Rino Piccirilli”.

During the event there was a national exhibition for the thematic, maximafilia and open philately classes and the Sovereign Military Order’s Poste Magistrali also had an advance post-office, where the latest postal and numismatic issues could be purchased, subscriptions taken out and information requested on the Order’s stamps and coins.

At the Poste Magistrali stand there was also a special postmark dedicated to Fra’ Giuseppe Rivera (1846-1923), Commander of the Sovereign Order of Malta, founder of the Abruzzi Homeland History Deputation and prominent figure in Abruzzo society at the turn of the 19^th and 20^th centuries.
