After the presentation to the Order’s institutions, the new numismatic series for the year 2023 of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, of H.M.E.H. the Grand Master Fra’ John Dunlap was officially presented to the public on 9 and 10 November, at the celebration of the new investitures of the American Association of the Order of Malta.

During the event held in New York, Dr. Giorgio Battioni, Administrative Director of the Poste Magistrali Department, explained the characteristics of the new coins to the participants and presented a commemorative plate to Dr. Peter J. Kelly, President of the American Association of the Order of Malta.

As per tradition, the new issue consists of six coins, in gold, silver and bronze, denominated in Scudi, Tarì and Grani, the Order’s historic currency. The new coins bear on the obverse side the effigy of Fra’ John Dunlap, Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and on the reverse side his official coat of arms as Grand Master. The artwork was created by the Maltese sculptor Noel Galea Bason.

The new issue will be officially on sale from 25 November, but collectors and enthusiasts can already reserve it in advance.
