At the Magistral Palace, the new numismatic issue for the year 2023 was presented, the first issue of H.M.E.H. Fra’ John Dunlap, Prince and 81st Grand Master, elected on 3 May. At the presentation event, in the presence of members of the Sovereign Council and the Directors of the Poste Magistrali administration, the Grand Master received the first specimen of the new issue as a gift.

Deliberated by the Order’s Sovereign Council with Decree No. 742 of 12 October 2023, the numismatic series consists of six coins, in gold, silver and bronze, expressed in Scudi, Tarì and Grani, the Order’s historic currency. The new coins bear on the obverse side the effigy of Fra’ John Dunlap, Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and on the reverse side his official coat of arms as Grand Master. The artwork was created by the Maltese sculptor Noel Galea Bason.

The new series will be officially presented to the public at the Official Premiere to be held in New York City, U.S.A., on 9 and 10 November.
