Poste Magistrali at the Order of Malta’s 64th international pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes

Poste Magistrali at the Order of Malta’s 64th international pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes

Poste Magistrali participated for the first time, with its own exhibition stand, in the Order of Malta’s international pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, in France, from 29 April to 3 May.  This was its 64th edition, the first since 2019 after the interruption caused by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Albeit less than in pre-pandemic editions, there were some 3,000 malades, members and volunteers participating, coming from over 30 countries.

For the occasion, Poste Magistrali has created a special postmark featuring the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes and a Sovereign Order of Malta volunteer pushing the characteristic wheelchair used in Lourdes for Our Lords the Sick.

Among the events and celebrations that took place during the pilgrimage, there was also a postmarking ceremony, presided over by H.E. Fra’ Marco Luzzago, the Order of Malta’s Lieutenant of the Grand Master, who honoured the Magistral Post Office stand with his participation.

The commemorative postcards with the special postmark are on sale at the Magistral Post Office for € 2.50.
