On November 11, the new numismatic issue for the year 2025 was presented to Grand Master Fra’ John Dunlap, at the Magistral Palace. At the event, the Grand Master received the first specimen of the new issue as a gift from the Receiver of the Common Treasury, Fra’ Francis J. Vassallo.
The issue is dedicated to the Holy Year 2025. The new coins bear the effigy of Fra’ John Dunlap on the obverse and the logo especially created to celebrate the Jubilee Year 2025 on the reverse, which reproduces the octagonal cross, symbol of the Order of Malta, on which rests the depiction of the famous keyhole of the entrance door of the Magistral Villa, located in Rome on the Aventine Hill, through which the dome of St. Peter’s Papal Basilica, the center of Christianity and Jubilee celebrations, is visible.
Approved by the Sovereign Council of the Order with decree No. 5945 of October 10, 2025, the numismatic series consists of six coins, in gold, silver, and bronze, expressed in Scudi, Tarì, and Grani, the historical currency of the Order.
