On the occasion of the AFI 2023 Roman Convention, scheduled to take place in Rome on 21 October 2023, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta’s Poste Magistrali will use the special postmark at the dedicated stand activated in the Casa dell’Aviatore in Viale dell’Università 20.

The stamp, created by Giancarlo Federico, reproduces a detail of the leaflet issued on 23 March 2023 on the occasion of the celebrations for the centenary of the Italian Air Force, depicting a SIAI MARCHETTI S.82 “Marsupiale” aircraft with the insignia of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta flying over Rome and Vatican City.

The postmark is completed by the inscriptions “SOVRANO MILITARE ORDINE DI MALTA” and “POSTE MAGISTRALI”, la leggenda “CONVEGNO ROMANO AFI 2023 ALI DENTELLATE” and the date “21.X.2023”.

Items for reposting, individually franked by the sender with stamps belonging to the relevant set, must reach the Poste Magistrali office by 21 December 2023. A suitable self-addressed envelope, bearing the Order of Malta stamps corresponding to the ordinary (Posta4) or priority (Posta1) postal rate in force in Italy, must be enclosed for the postmarked items to be returned under cover. For any return by registered mail, please contact Poste Magistrali in advance.

Items to be returned uncovered must reach Poste Magistrali by 6 November 2023 and must be individually marked as “Corrispondenza filatelica” (Philatelic correspondence) on the address side in indelible ink. Should this indication be missing, it will be applied by Poste Magistrali.
