| Stamp description | On the occasion of his canonization, with the Eucharistic celebration in St. Peter’s Square on 7 September 2025, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, together with Vatican City, Italy and San Marino, pays tribute to Saint Carlo Acutis, a young man of our time who died prematurely on 12 October 2006 from a severe form of leukaemia at the age of 15. He lived the Gospel with the spontaneity and vivacity typical of his young age, making it the compass of his existence. The stamp depicts the Saint on Mount Subasio, near Assisi, in the Umbria region, on one of his last trips before his death. The stamp is completed by the legend ‘CANONIZZAZIONE DI CARLO ACUTIS’ (Canonization of Carlo Acutis) and the inscriptions ‘SOVRANO MILITARE ORDINE DI MALTA’ (Sovereign Military Order of Malta) and ‘POSTE MAGISTRALI’, the coat of arms of the Order’s activities and the face value ‘€ 1.35’.
