united in a se-tenant block, the three stamps celebrate the British Association of the Order of Malta on the 150th anniversary of its establishment.

The central stamp bears the inscription ‘150’, the years ‘1875 – 2025’ and ‘British Association’. In the background the Order of Malta’s eight-pointed cross and a map of Great Britain.

The stamp on the left depicts a historical photograph of Sir George Bowyer (1811-1883), founder of the British Association in 1875 and the inscriptions ‘British Association’, ‘1875-2025’.

The stamp on the right is illustrated by a portrait of the Servant of God Fra’ Andrew Bertie (1929-2008), one of the most distinguished knights counted among the ranks of the British Association, 78th Prince and Grand Master of the Order of Malta, from 1988 to 2008, for whom the diocesan procedure for the cause of beatification was started in 2015. Also included are the inscriptions ‘British Association’, ‘1875-2025’.

On each stamp there are also the inscriptions ‘SOVRANO MILITARE ORDINE DI MALTA’ and ‘POSTE MAGISTRALI’, the emblem of the Order’s activities and the face value.
