the entire surface of the souvenir sheet bears an image of Rhodes, the work of cartographers Georg Braun and Franz Hogenberg, carried out in Venice in 1625 with the burin engraving technique.  It is taken from the work “Raccolta di le piu illustri et famose Città di tutto il Mondo” published by the engraver and printer Francesco Valegio (1560-1610 ca.), a copy of which is kept in the Sovereign Order of Malta’s Magistral Archives and Library. The bottom of the central part has perforations on three sides to form the stamp. Inside are the inscriptions “SOVRANO MILITARE ORDINE DI MALTA” and “POSTE MAGISTRALI”, the coat of arms of the Order’s activities and the face value € 3.05. On the right of the stamp is the three-line inscription “G. BRAVN E F. HOGENBERG – RHODVS MEDITERRANEI MARIS INSVLA APPELATIONEM LARGITVR, VRBS AVGVSTO MVRORUM AMBITV – VENEZIA, 1625 – ARCHIVI E BIBLIOTECA MAGISTRALI”. On the top of the sheet the inscription “1522 QVINTO CENTENARIO DELL’ASSEDIO DI RODI 2022”.
