Subscription Privacy Policy

PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING INFORMATION AND CONSENT (ART. 13 AND 14 REG. 679/2016/EU – GDPR)

For the purposes provided for by Regulation 679/2016/EU (GDPR) regarding the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, and the free movement of such data and which repeals Directive 95/46/EC, with this document, we inform you that the processing of personal data provided by you and acquired by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta will be subject to processing in accordance with the aforementioned regulations and in compliance with the rights and obligations resulting therefrom and we specify the following:

1) DATA CONTROLLER: The Data Controller is the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, with headquarters at Via dei Condotti n. 68 – 00187 Rome, Tel: 06/675811. The Data Controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer – Sovereign Order of Malta, dpo@orderofmalta.int.

2) PURPOSE OF THE PROCESSING: Data is collected and used in order to:

    • conclude the subscription and receive the postal emissions in subscription after opening a deposit account
    • fulfill the contractual and tax obligations arising from the relationships in place, and manage the necessary communications related to them;
    • fulfill the obligations provided for by law, by a regulation, by Community legislation or by an Authority order;
    • the ordinary internal operational, managerial, and accounting needs, and for the purposes of archiving the activity carried out by the Postal Magistrates of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

3) PLACE OF PROCESSING: The place of processing is the headquarters of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

4) LEGAL BASIS OF THE DATA PROCESSING: The legal basis of the processing is the explicit consent ex article 6, par 1, lett. a).

5) METHOD OF PROCESSING AND PRESERVATION OF PERSONAL DATA: Personal data is processed using manual, computerized and telematic tools, in order to ensure security and privacy in compliance with the applicable regulations. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta is committed to safeguarding and controlling them in such a way as to minimize the risks of destruction or loss, unauthorized access or processing that is not authorized or not in accordance with the purposes for which they were collected. The collected data is kept for the necessary period related to the processing purposes and, in any case, until the moment when the customer exercises the right to delete them.

6) CATEGORIES OF PROCESSED PERSONAL DATA: The Sovereign Military Order of Malta only processes the client’s identifying and contact data.

7) RIGHTS OF THE INTERESTED PARTY: The interested party has the right to have their data processed legally, correctly, and transparently. Moreover, they have the right, where possible and at any time:

    • to be informed about how personal data is used, such as through this privacy policy, to request access (art. 15), correction (art. 16), or deletion (art. 17) of personal data that we hold. They can also request a limitation on the processing that affects them (art. 18), as well as the right to data portability (art. 20)
    • to revoke the consent given at any time (Article 7) without prejudicing the legality of the treatment based on the consent given before the revocation
    • to object at any time, for reasons related to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you (Article 21)
    • if the interested party believes that the processing concerning them violates current data protection legislation, they have the right to file a complaint (Article 77) with a supervisory authority, specifically in the Member State in which they habitually reside, work, or where the alleged violation took place. For Italy, this authority is the “Data Protection Authority,” established by the 31 December 1996, n. 675 law (http://www.garanteprivacy.it/).

The interested party can obtain further information about their rights, including the circumstances in which they apply, by addressing the supervisory authority in the Member State in which they habitually reside.

The exercise of all the aforementioned rights may be exercised at any time by writing to the Data Controller (Sovereign Military Order of Malta) at the above references.
