| Stamp description | the stamps reproduce the detail of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary, mosaic by Jacopo Torriti, in the apse of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. The souvenir sheet depicts the Coronation mosaic and, on the stamps inside, detail of the mosaic decoration, € 2.40 denomination, and detail of the Coronation of the Virgin, € 4.80 denomination. The diptych stamp set, each € 2.60 denomination, depicts Jesus in the act of placing the crown on the Virgin’s head. |
